John Evans
John’s artistic intentions are heavily influenced by early civilisations, Japan, Greece, South America, and Africa all added to the mix and show through in the naked clay (unglazed) burnished surfaces of the work, now often produced in collaboration with his partner, painter and sculptor -Janet Brancombe.
The work has an earthy, natural feel – ultra contemporary in style. The time-consuming burnishing followed by multiple firings providing tactile and mysterious marble-like surface.
