I use the medium of clay as a canvas just as a painter would do. This gives me an opportunity to express my long-held interest in the natural world. The shapes I make evolve from folding white earthenware clay to create vessels and also press moulding clay into asymmetrical dishes and bowls. This has led me to create a range of Faceform vases along my botanically themed work. The designs are drawn, tubelined, and painted before a final lustre firing reveals the iridescent lustre effects.
