Babs Belshaw

My work is inspired by nature especially ice patterns. Using crystal glaze provides me with the opportunity of creating spontaneous patterns upon my vessels; the complex crystal formations are frozen within the glaze, irresistible not to touch the surface. My colour palate comes from growing up and living near the coast; on the Isle of Man and the North Coast of Derry. This inspiration translates the colours of the sea and sky into the blues of my glazes.
