Lise Herud Braten Ceramics
My main interests are texture and natural forms, and I’m inspired by craggy rocks, lichen, moss and layered tree bark, as well as the organic shapes, asymmetry and imperfection that makes nature so beautiful. My work spans from functional ware and vases, through to purely sculptural vessels and forms. Each piece is handmade and unique, either thrown on a wheel or built by hand, or often a combination of the two. I use a mix of stoneware and porcelain clays, and fire to 1260C in an electric kiln.
