Arek Nowicki

I build my forms using a few different types of stoneware clay. I found my space to explore on the border between pottery and sculpture, creating and contrasting crystalline glazes with different glazes and textures. In my work I improvise on the “theme” of traditional or classic shapes of pots or vessels like a musician improvises on well known songs. I find inspiration easily in the shapes of the organic part of nature, then I use that to create my alien looking forms.
