Mark Smith

I work with a variety of clays and combine the finished pieces with found or reclaimed objects. I experiment with different textures and patinas to give a weathered decayed finish. I decorate using slips, engobes and a variety of different oxides and glaze. Each sculpture has a story to tell and is a nostalgic look at mostly memories or moments. Some pieces are fantastical and fun visually and aim to make you smile.
