Emma Westmacott
Emma’s work is inspired by her love of 20th century design aesthetics and the concrete formwork surfaces seen in Brutalist architecture.
She explores new ways of creating textural surfaces through her distinct slip-cast pieces. Using moulds which are cast in stacked layers, she can reconfigure them to create individual pieces.
Her current collection has been made using terracotta. A clay with a rich colour that deepens the higher it’s fired which contrasts sharply with the glassy glazes.
