Gilly Whittington

My work is in porcelain, thrown and sometimes altered. I have two main strands of practice: one off pieces where the decoration is heavily influenced by abstract impressionist painters – I am always trying to establish a sense of energy and movement. These pieces include vases, bottless platters, bowls, boat teapots and jugs. I also have a small range of porcelain tableware, thinly thrown in clear colours. All my glazes are made using wood ash and oxides.
