My pots reflect the spontaneity of the slipware tradition of decorating with coloured clays on semi-dry pots. Using terracotta clay and white slip, colours are applied in different ways, with brushes, sponges and slip trailers, gradually building bold patterns around the pots for a loose, abstract effect. Some recent work, the flat profile pots, have textured surfaces, adding to the dynamics of the decoration and bringing more depth to the designs.
