During the past two years, when the flow of normal life was suspended, I gained time for reflection and development, time which previously had been precious and rare. I worked on a smaller scale using up the materials that I had to hand. I began exploring bowl forms. I also grew more objective in assessing the glaze -painted landscapes as they emerged from the kiln. I believe they benefitted from my re-connection with the Peak District landscape over which I roamed constantly.
